Time is a funny thing. We don’t see it passing, but sometimes – if we squint in just the right way – we can see how quickly it’s passed.
We look at the past. We look at the future. And some of us try to stay in the moment – even when it feels like we would give anything to be anywhere else. To be anyone else. To be working any other job or to be living a different lifestyle.
But it’s in the moment that matters. It’s what we make of our moments and what we do with our time that gives us the chance to look back later and think, “you know, maybe I didn’t do so badly.”
Lately, I’ve been looking for something new, something different. I want to be inspired. I want to look for new opportunities. I want to push forward with dreams and ideas and to start building a foundation for something bigger. Something more exciting.
And that’s where this space comes in.
Sure, I’m looking for new professional opportunities, and I definitely have some idea about what I want those to look like.
I’m also thinking about living in a new place, not for the sake of a fresh start so much as for the opportunity to be closer to the shore, to be near places I love, and for the chance to be a part of something that has made my life better.
I’ve taken up running. I’m getting back into spending time on the bike. Between the two, my goal is to reach 5,000 miles this year. It’s a bit of a stretch but it isn’t unrealistic.
I’m doing a lot of reading – and this space is where I intend to keep notes, to document what I learn and how I intend to add that knowledge into my life. I’m also doing a lot of writing, and as it seems appropriate I’ll share links to the places where that’s taking place.
